This Privacy Policy outlines how your personal information is collected, used, and shared when you visit or make a purchase from MALINKI (malinki-shop.com) (the “Site”).
Personal information we collect
When you visit the Site, our hosting providers automatically record basic technical information in their server logs — your IP address, the pages requested, the browser you used and the time. We refer to this as Device Information. We do not build a profile of who you are, and we do not follow you to other websites.
That happens through three things, and only three:
- Server logs kept by the services that host the shop. They record your IP address, browser type, which pages were requested and when.
- Browser storage on your own device, which holds the id of your shopping basket so it is still there when you come back. It stays on your device, it is not a tracking cookie, and clearing your browser data removes it.
- Umami, a cookie-free analytics tool we host ourselves on Railway (US). It counts page visits and a few shop events (adding to the cart, starting checkout, an order going through, with its order number and total), along with your browser, device, language, the site or campaign link that sent you and a rough location worked out from your IP address. It sets no cookies, stores no IP address and doesn't track you across other websites. Your visits are linked to each other only within the same calendar month: Umami tells visitors apart by a one-way code made from your IP address and browser, and that code changes every month. It runs for every visitor; the choices in our cookie banner still decide everything optional, such as counting which parts of the homepage get seen.
Apart from Umami, we do not use web beacons, tracking pixels or advertising tags of any kind.
Additionally, when you make a purchase or attempt to make a purchase through the Site, we collect certain information from you, including your name, billing address, shipping address, payment information including credit card numbers, email address, and phone number. We refer to this information as Order Information. When we talk about Personal Information in this Privacy Policy, we are talking both about Device Information and Order Information.
How do we use your personal information?
We use the Order Information that we collect generally to fulfill any orders placed through the Site (including processing your payment information, arranging for shipping, and providing you with invoices and/or order confirmations).
Additionally, we use this Order Information to:
- Communicate with you.
- Screen our orders for potential risk or fraud.
- When in line with the preferences you have shared with us, provide you with information or advertising relating to our products or services.
We use Device Information to keep the shop running and to screen for fraud — in particular your IP address — and, through Umami, to see how the shop is used: which pages are visited, what goes into carts, and how many checkouts are started and finished. We do not use it to measure advertising, because we do not run any.
Behavioral advertising
We don't do any. This site runs no advertising pixels, no remarketing tags and no cross-site trackers — there is no Facebook pixel, no Google Ads tag and no third-party analytics script. Our own visit counting (Umami, above) is never used for advertising. Nothing you do here is used to target advertising at you anywhere else.
If that ever changes, this page changes first, and we will name whatever we have added before we start using it.

Do not track
We don't track you across other websites at all, so a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal has nothing here to switch off. Our own cookie-free visit counting (Umami, above) is not cross-site tracking, so it carries on either way. We have left this section in because that may not always be true, and if it stops being true this is where it will say so.
Your rights
If you are a European resident, you have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and to ask that your personal information is corrected, updated, or deleted. If you would like to exercise this right, please contact us using the details below.
Additionally, if you are a European resident, we note that we are processing your information in order to fulfill contracts we might have with you (for example, if you make an order through the Site), or otherwise to pursue our legitimate business interests listed above. Please also note that your information will be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States.
Data retention
When you place an order through the Site, we will maintain your order information for our records unless and until you ask us to delete this information.
What Umami records has no retention period set yet, so for now it is kept until we delete it. When we set one, this section will say how long.
Changes
We may update this privacy policy from time to time in order to reflect, for example, changes to our practices or for other operational, legal or regulatory reasons.
